Dashboard Guide
The Dashboard is your financial command center. Here's how to make the most of each component:
1. Adding Transactions

Select Transaction Type
Toggle between "Income" (green button) and "Expense" (red button) depending on what you're recording.

Fill Transaction Details
Description: Name of transaction (e.g., "Salary", "Groceries")
Amount: Enter the amount (automatically uses selected currency)
Category: Choose from predefined categories or custom ones
Date: Select the transaction date (defaults to today)
Payment Method: Choose how you paid (Cash, Credit Card, etc.)
Notes: Optional additional information -
Save Transaction
Click "Add Income" or "Add Expense" to save. The dashboard updates immediately.
2. Financial Summary Cards
Total Balance
Your current net worth calculated as Income minus Expenses. Turns red if negative, green if positive.
Total Income
Sum of all income transactions. Shows in green with a downward arrow symbol.
Total Expenses
Sum of all expense transactions. Shows in red with an upward arrow symbol.
Net Savings
Percentage of income saved, calculated as (Income - Expenses) ÷ Income × 100.
3. Recent Transactions
View your last 10 transactions with the ability to:
- Filter by transaction type (All/Income/Expense)
- Filter by specific category
- See full details including date, payment method, and notes
- Delete individual transactions if needed

Download all your data as a JSON backup file. Essential for data preservation and transfers between devices.

Clear All Data
Remove all transaction data (use with caution!). Requires confirmation to prevent accidental deletion.
3. Transaction Operations

Deleting Transactions
Click the "Delete" button on any transaction. Confirm deletion in the popup window. The action updates all charts and summaries immediately.

Important Warning
Always export your data before using "Clear All" or clearing browser cache. Local storage data can be lost if browser data is cleared.

I/E Ratio

Avg Daily Spend
Average amount spent per day. Helps identify if you're living within your means.
Transaction Count
Total number of transactions that month. Fewer transactions often mean simpler finances.
